WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
When my own mother moved into her Memory Care residence, I was surprised at how dark and sparse most of her neighbors' rooms were. Even if the location of home changes, our desire for bright, cheerful, and coordinated spaces does not change. These surroundings lift moods and promote thriving. Additionally, familiar items make a new space feel like home more quickly which can reduce anxiety and the time it takes to transition successfully. There is dignity in beauty, and we seek to preserve dignity by creating beautiful new surroundings to call home.

Whitney Siddons is an Interior Designer with more than 30 years of experience in residential interiors and remodeling and the owner and principal designer of Modcap Design LLC. In the Dallas area since 2016, she has worked as a Design Consultant on large-scale Continuing Care Retirement Communities (Ventana by Buckner, The Hawthorne at PVN) which prompted her to pursue certification as an Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). Having moved family members and friends many times into various caregiving arrangements, she has discovered the secrets of creating beautiful spaces that help settle residents in quickly and maintain their dignity. Though a departure from traditional interior design, she considers the work of Dignified Transitions a mission of service to an invaluable population and their families.
The area of service is an approximate 20 mile radius from Frisco, Texas – see service map – including Prosper, McKinney, Plano, and Lewisville.
Duration of Service is approximately two to five weekdays, depending upon the package chosen. Booking must occur at least two weeks prior to the move-in date and is subject to designer availability. Though DT has worked in and has contacts within many senior residences in the North Texas area, it is the responsibility of the resident and/or their family to notify the new home and staff of the engagement of DT’s services and to ensure that access to the room and property are provided. DT is also happy and willing to work with the mover of your choice but does not provide movers or moving services.
